This series of devotions are meant to serve as a simple reminder of God's presence in the ordinary moment of everyday life. This is the sixth devotion in the series. Throughout the summer, we'll share a devotion each week to remind you of God's presence and the power of hope. Every week, you'll find the scripture, prayer, and reflection question on the website along with links to other devotions.
Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. When they saw him, they worshiped him, but some doubted. And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:16-20
Listen to the devotion above.
Gracious God, thank you for the people who have invited me and welcomed me into following Jesus. I am grateful for the ways you have shaped my life in and through them. By your grace, help me be hospitable. Help me reach and receive the people you place in my path. Give me the courage to introduce them to you. Help me create opportunities to practice the faith you have given to me. And use me to invite and welcome others into following Jesus. Fill me with so much love that I become the person you have created me to be. I offer myself to you in the name of Jesus. Amen
