Janet Macoska is an American photographer. A lifelong Cleveland, Ohio native, she has been capturing images of rock and roll musicians since 1974. Her work has been prominently featured in many publications including Rolling Stone, People, US Weekly, Vogue, and The New York Times. 

Macoska’s work is also part of the permanent collection of several art institutions, including the National Portrait Gallery in London, England; the Smithsonian Museum of American History in Washington D.C., and in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland.

Macoska’s photos have been regularly featured in rock-themed television and film productions, books, and in the liner notes of many artists’ albums, including David Bowie, Lou Reed, AC/DC, Kiss, The Clash, Devo, Heart, and The Kinks. Her iconic photo of Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page during a 1977 performance at the Richfield Coliseum is featured on the back cover of Page’s autobiography, Jimmy Page by Jimmy Page.

Macoska’s own retrospective photography book, All Access Cleveland: The Rock and Roll Photography of Janet Macoska, co-authored with Cleveland-area writer Peter Chakerian. Her latest book is Bruce Springsteen: Live in the Heartland.
