Everyone's tired of the divisiveness and animosity in our social interactions and political leanings. In this episode cohosts teZa and Carter Lord notice a distinct swing among their circles toward tiring of arguing and more inclined to healing the divide. The discussion points out drawbacks of using "labels" of any sort, whether for our own multi-layered lives or in reference to people holding different opinions. Finally, the couple give a wonderful way in which we can implement a real change in society: by inviting small groups of friends (of "different" opinions) to come together for a "talking stick" meal in which everyone gets to share, and everyone gets to listen. These small informal get-togethers send ripples of kindness and civility throughout our troubled culture, one meal, one civil, kind discussion at a time.
