Her early health struggles and her fond experiences with her late grandfather brought Juliana Leamen to where she is today as the founder of Naturally Joyous Inc, a Holistic Menopause Transition Expert, an author, and a podcast host.

She guides menopausal women in feeling comfortable in their own skin, helping them through their “weight-release” journeys, and regaining their confidence.

She is here to discuss with us her advice on how to shift our mindset towards losing weight and be more conscious in choosing the people we look up to.

Tune in to this episode on How to Become Your Body’s Best Friend in Midlife with Juliana Leamen.

Key points covered in this episode:

✔️ Getting into shape is all about perception. While weight loss focuses on getting rid of disliked features such as love handles and belly fat, weight release focuses on accepting everything so that one’s body can change. Having a clear “why” is also a key in going through this process.

✔️ Look at the good and the bad of your emotions. When you’re attempting to be “perfect”, you hide your authentic emotions to avoid criticism. In some instances, anger can be a positive thing to get one out of stagnation.

✔️ Self-care is your responsibility. We can only be the best versions of ourselves when we are filling our own cups. No one else is doing that for us. When you exist in your most authentic light, the whole world celebrates with you.

✔️ Anything you aren’t grateful for becomes baggage. Challenging situations can either be paralyzing or empowering – it’s up to you to think of them as a teacher or a punisher. The quicker you learn the lesson, the easier it becomes. The more you know, the smoother you’ll flow.

✔️ We move with a motive. Do you catch yourself out of the blue – opening your pantry, craving that sweet treat? Though giving yourself a reward once in a while isn’t all that bad, it’s also helpful to consider where these feelings come from. Especially when you’re aiming for weight release.

✔️ Switch confidence around. Did that celebrity or influencer’s post make you feel bad about your body again? If you perceive something in someone else that makes you feel less than, it means you also have it… but in a totally different form. You love that celebrity’s hair, and you have hair too – designed in a way that’s uniquely YOU.

✔️ Everybody’s a mirror to you. In your healing journey, you are your top priority. It’s all your show. So go out there – stand in your power and let people talk. Your experiences and strength are just triggering their fears.
