El Elyon is one of the Hebrew names of God. It means God Most High or The Most High God. El Elyon is the Sovereign God in whom we can put our trust. El Elyon is supreme over all the earth, and He is our Helper. That is why He sent His Son, Jesus Christ to die for our sins, because we need help from God. When Jesus returned to heaven, God the Father sent The Holy Spirit or The Helper to help us while we live on the earth. Psalm 121:1-2 says, "I lift up my eyes to the hills. Where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth," (NIV).
