We have been hunting down him for a while!! Who would that be? Nigel Barriffe. He is an educator, an activist and a politician. He is also one of the first two guests that we had on our show. In this episode, we chat with Nigel about the African Heritage Educators Network (AHEN). Nigel is the Public Relations Officer for AHEN. AHEN collectively represents students, educators and parents of African Heritage through advocacy in policy, staffing, parent and community, programming and curriculum. By ensuring student success and strengthening the development of our human resources, we will empower both our students and our communities. Nigel also talks about the key role that AHEN played in opening Toronto's first Afrocentric school which opened in September 2009. We also talk about the school's first year and what help it needs.
