Being brought up in Michigan in the ‘70s, Mike Gordon
found himself with an identity crisis. Coming from a
nonreligious home and no Christian training, he entered a life of
rebellion and drug use. By the time he was 24 years old, he
was a full-on heroin addict and criminal. In today’s podcast,
Ken Pounders and Mike discuss what his life was like before Jesus
took away his addiction and gave him a whole new way of life. The
Conquer Addiction Podcast is designed to deliver real, Scriptural,
and time-tested solutions for those struggling with addiction and
those who are trying to help them.
Not having a sense of identity, Mike embarked upon
the lifestyle of a peace, love, and joy hippie. The revolving
doors of methadone clinics, psychiatrists, and detoxes had
convinced him that a drug addict was who he was. His
relationships destroyed and out of hope, Mike knew life wasn’t
supposed to be like this.
When his heartbroken mom found a needle and a spoon
in the bathroom, he was faced with the question, “Mike, what are
you gonna do?” That was the beginning of a changed life for
Mike.
Listen along and hear how Jesus made a difference in
the life of this hopeless addict.
