Thompson is a Political Science Professor at Clemson University and Executive Director of the Clemson Institute for the Study of Capitalism. He received his Ph.D. from Brown University and has also been a visiting scholar at Princeton, Harvard, and the University of London.
His most recent book is America's Revolutionary Mind: A Moral History of the American Revolution and the Declaration that Defined It, published in 2019.
