Tracy Blais, BS, CVT, MEd Chair, CVTEA

Tracy has been a veterinary technician educator for over 30 years. She started as a faculty member in the veterinary technology program at Becker College and four years later, was recruited by her alma mater, Mount Ida College. While at Mount Ida, she was tenured faculty and served as program director, then as department chair of the veterinary technology program for 25 years. As a member of the UMass Veterinary Technology Major faculty, Tracy teaches Veterinary Parasitology, Veterinary Management, and the Senior Seminar. Tracy is also the coordinator for the UMass Veterinary Technology Major Internship Program and the advisor of the student chapter of the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America.

Kelly Foltz, BA, LVT, VTS (ECC) Vice-Chair, CVTEA

Kelly Foltz is a 2006 graduate of Athens Technical College with an associate of applied technology degree in Veterinary Technology. She joined the Academy of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Technicians and Nurses in 2012. Kelly is employed full time at the Wilfred and Kate Bailey Small Animal Teaching Hospital at Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine.

In addition to her work at Auburn, Kelly is also a lecturer and author. She is a member of the AVMA Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities and served on the AVMA Task Force on Veterinary Technician Utilization in 2019. In her free time she enjoys renovating her 100 year old farm house in rural east Alabama, reading, spending time with her quarter horse gelding Billy, and taking naps with her five pit bull terriers.
