Caramon, Tika, Tas and Berem find themselves in the dungeons below the Dark Queen’s Temple in Neraka. Berem is not handling imprisonment well… They might have been able to overpower their guards and escape if Gakhan, Kit’s fixer, hadn’t also arrived in the dungeons at the same time, looking for them. More specifically, looking for Berem, who he confirms is the ‘Green Gemstone Man’ that Takhisis seeks. Above them, in the temple itself, Tanis waits for his introduction to the Dark Queen. We learn that Toede has been killed and the dragonarmies expelled from Kenderhome. Berem kills Gakhan and escapes the Companions below, separating in the hopes of allowing Berem to do whatever it is he needs to do here. Tanis comes face to face with Takhisis and Laurana…
