Henry Bial earned a B.A. in Folklore and Mythology from Harvard and a Ph.D. in Performance Studies from New York University. He is currently the Professor of Theatre and Director of the School of the Arts at the University of Kansas, where he also serves as Associate Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. He is the author of Playing God: The Bible on the Broadway Stage and Acting Jewish: Negotiating Ethnicity on the American Stage and Screen.
