What if children and pre-teens had buttons and
switches that allowed them to turn off or tone down negative
emotions such as anger or hurt and turn up positive ones like love
and compassion? How can we teach our children to understand not
only the emotions they feel, but how to control them as well?
We are so excited to welcome author and speaking,
Michelle Steffes, as she walks us through the science of our
emotions and how we can teach our children to be resilient in a
post-pandemic world. Michelle shares her years of research into
complex topics such as resilience, neuroscience, and emotional
intelligence, and how each of these can be broken down into simple
ideas that children and pre teens can grasp.
We also talk about her book, The Machine Inside
Me: How to change your brain and discover the power within
you!, which we believe is an invaluable resource not only
for parents of young children, but adults themselves into learning
the how and why of emotional control.
