Someone Like You

The system is built on oppression and keeps the wheels of exploitation turning, says today’s guest, Colin Vernon, co-founder and CTO of Slow Factory, a New York-based environmental and social justice nonprofit organization. Colin has worn many hats over the years, from performer and musician to producer, community organizer, and self-taught coder, always with a key concern for social and environmental ethics.
Colin speaks with Marco on building community power through open source education led by the global majority, producing and backing regenerative designs that are better for the environment, and on Slow Factory being for the builders, dreamers, and people who give a shit and who would instead choose transparency over profit.
With over 400,000 followers on Instagram and hundreds of free and inclusive educational seminars, Slow Factory is showing us that leading structural change is possible, all while being economically and environmentally feasible.
