Fight between Canada Soccer and men's & women's national team players is far from over

With the Canadian women's national team winning the Olympic gold medal and the men's national team qualifying for this winter's FIFA World Cup, for the first time in 35 years, the Canadian Soccer Association has more eyeballs on it than ever before. And as Puff Daddy famously told us in the late 1990's: More money. More problems.

 

James Sharman and Brendan Dunlop discuss with former Canadian men's national team stars Craig Forrest and Jimmy Brennan all the latest developments in the battle over World Cup prize money, after Rick Westhead's article about the lack of transparency and responsible governance prompted statements from the CSA and the women's and men's national teams. Jimmy and Craig are at odds over what can be done differently in a country where soccer has such a small market share in a very crowded sports landscape, and producer Dan Wong explains why the marketing issues that led to the partnership deal with Canadian Soccer Business, are not an overnight fix. 

 

Jimmy and Craig also tell some great pre-season travel stories, and the crew debate how much we can actually take from Manchester United's throttling of Liverpool in Bangkok. A heavy dose of real talk, with your expected dose of laughs.
