Kelli is a badass CEO of a Colorado nonprofit called BCC Evolution (now Make Mental Health Matter), a mental health and suicide awareness nonprofit. They focus on the education aspect after her sister took her life. Kelli was a teen mom at the age of 16 as a junior in high school. She put her daughter up for adoption because she watched her sister go through it as a teen mom and didn’t want that for her life. So she asked for an open adoption and is in contact with the family with lots of adoption in her family. She had her second child much later in life and then was a single mom. NOT the experience she wanted. With family support and really great sisters, she felt she had some pretty decent help with the birth of her son. Her son had seizures at a young kiddo and that was one of the hardest things she ever had to go through because the unknown was rough but he is healthy now and doing great. She wants moms to know that there is no cookie cutter way to raise kids. Every parent is different, every child is different and there is no guide book! Roll with the punches and it’s never going to be perfect. Lean on other moms and ask the questions just know that their answers may not pertain to you but other opinions can’t hurt. You can find them at their website at makementalhealthmatter.org.
