On the 57th episode of this podcast, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Tom McMahon, a cancer survivor, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) black belt. We delved deep into his journey with Jiu-Jitsu, from his initial steps onto the mat to where he is now. Tom shared how the discipline and mental fortitude he developed through training has helped him grow as a person, face various challenges, and ultimately played a significant role in his battle against cancer.

Tom is a big believer in the power of competition in sports, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is no exception. For Tom, stepping into the ring not only helped him test his skills but also allowed him to push past his fears and grow mentally stronger. This mental toughness, in turn, spilled over into other areas of his life, including his relationships. He shared how the confidence and self-awareness he's gained from Jiu-Jitsu have helped him forge deeper, more meaningful connections with those around him.

Tom also talked about how Jiu-Jitsu helped him stay upbeat and focused while fighting cancer.  He couldn't stress enough how the discipline, mental clarity, and determination he nurtured through this martial art became invaluable allies in his journey back to health. You won't want to miss this incredibly inspiring episode where we delve into the life-changing power of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and cheer on Tom McMahon's unbreakable spirit!
