On this forty-seventh episode of the Jiu-Jitsu Outlet podcast, I talk to Alejandro Wajner.
Alejandro is a purple belt in Jiu-Jitsu and a lifetime wrestler. Training out of the famed Daisy Fresh academy in Mount Vernon, IL, Alejandro is coached by the legend Heath Pedigo.
Inspired by his coaches drive to help the community,
Alejandro has begun to coach wrestling for kids in the local
area.
Alejandro has become the local wrestling coach, teaching at the
school and also opening his own wrestling club. Coaching alongside
Daisy Fresh athletes like Michael Pixley, Alejandro has been able
to build a successful wrestling program known for turning kids into
champions.
On this episode, Alejandro shares about why he decided to pursue teaching wrestling to kids. We talk about why its essential for kids growing up today to practice a combat martial art like wrestling or BJJ.
Alejandro explains why he thinks kids should start off with gymnastics, move into wrestling, and progress into more advanced martial arts like BJJ or MMA. He also talks about why every BJJ person needs to find a wrestler to train with and develop alongside.
Alejandro and I discuss how to grow wrestling and BJJ and what we can do to help kids. Alejandro talks about why every BJJ athlete would benefit from volunteering at their local school or wrestling club.
This is a conversation you do NOT want to miss!
