On this fifty-first episode of the Jiu-Jitsu Outlet podcast, I talk to Brandon Shaefer.

Brandon is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu blue belt who has spent a lifetime training in martial arts like Karate and Taekwondo. He is also an Army veteran and a police officer.

On this episode, we discuss how martial arts transformed Brandon's life. When talking about what he was like before he found martial arts, Brandon mentioned that he wouldn't associate with the younger version of himself. Before finding martial arts, Brandon was on a dark path headed nowhere good.

After finding martial arts and dedicating himself to a healthy lifestyle, Brandon became an Army service member and a police officer. Dedicating himself to a life of service, Brandon has since changed everything and become a role model for young people in his community.

On this episode, we talk about the program that Brandon is starting to help men achieve fulfillment and purpose in their life through martial arts training. We also discuss why martial arts like BJJ are so important for law enforcement professionals.

Brandon also shares about his spiritual journey and why he believes that martial arts is a spiritual practice. We discuss the power of martial arts to change lives and bring people closer to God and their own selves.

If you know someone who is in law enforcement, send them this episode! We need to spread the word about why Jiu-Jitsu is essential for all first responders.

This is a conversation you do NOT want to miss!

Favorite quote - "The two driving forces in my life are martial arts and my faith."
