Kate White is a third grade teacher in year twelve. I served as a parent, volunteer, paraprofessional, Title I reading teacher, and third grade teacher. For family reasons I abandoned my path to teaching while an undergrad. I finished college but never taught until nearly 20 years later, after raising children. On this path I gained the perspective I needed to be the teacher I am. Without it, I'd likely have become wrapped up in delivering curriculum instead of helping kids grow.
