Thrive: Mental Health and the Art of Living Free

Jun 4, 2021

This week, I’m talking with Dr. Sasha Shillcutt about cultivating confidence through our failures, mindsets and being our authentic selves.

Like Martina McBride sang, this one’s for the girls. If you’ve ever felt like too much and not enough, this episode is for you.

Sasha K. Shillcutt, MD, MS, FASE is a renowned cardiac anesthesiologist.  Sasha is also a wife, mother, well-published gender-equity researcher, and Founder of Brave Enough. She teaches professional women resilience, self-care and negotiation through events, retreats and courses. Sasha speaks frequently to executives and companies on the topics of professional burnout, resilience and gender equity and has a featured TEDX Talk on Resilience: The Art of Failing Forward. She also has just released her first book, Between Grit and Grace

Things we discussed:

  • Dr. Sasha shares her journey that led her to where she is now
  • Our success isn’t measured by how liked we are.
  • The importance of knowing why we think the way we do and the most common limiting mindsets.
  • Confidence precedes and breeds success in addition to our failures also helps build our ability to level up.
