In this episode I speak with Robin Taub, author of the award winning book, The Wisest Investment: Teaching Your Kids to Be Responsible, Independent and Money-Smart for Life, a book that gives parents the information and skills they need to teach their kids about money.
Robin has held professional positions in audit and tax at two of Canada’s largest accounting firms, and spent five years in the complex financial world of Derivatives. She lives in Toronto, where she and her husband have raised two (mostly) money-smart young adults.
Robin advises parents to start talking to their children about money starting from the age of 5. She tells us how to teach the 5 pillars of financial literacy: earning, saving, spending, sharing and investing, in an age appropriate way.
