Nobody Told Me!

Feb 18, 2019

According to the Centers for Disease Control, over 20% of the adult population in the United States suffers from chronic pain. It’s estimated that between 11 million and 20 million Americans suffer from pain so severe that it frequently limits their work or life activities. Sarah Anne Shockley is one of those chronic pain sufferers, having lived with debilitating nerve pain since 2007.  She felt isolated and alone and wished she’d had a guide to living with more ease in the midst of pain and ultimately, relieving the pain.  She ended up writing such a book herself,  which provides practical advice for living with chronic pain and for relieving suffering on mental, emotional, and physical levels.  The book is called The Pain Companion:  Everyday Wisdom for Living With and Moving Beyond Chronic Pain.  |  *** We'd like to thank our sponsor for this episode, BetterHelp, the world's largest online counseling platform!
