Barbara Tucker Ketchum’s first career was in education where she taught middle school and coached high school softball. She then switched careers and enjoyed twenty-two years as an orthopedic physical therapist. A stage 4 cancer diagnosis led to her early retirement in 2020. Chemotherapy, a stem cell transplant, and God’s grace allowed Barbara to pursue her dream of becoming a published author. Her family, cycling, hiking, pickleball, and reading keep her busy. She is a devoted follower of Christ. Some of her favorite things are the Arkansas Razorbacks, watching her grandkids play sports, chocolate, and Ford Mustangs.
Driving Timmy’s Car is Barbara’s debut novel and is a finalist for the CIPA (Christian Indie Publishing Awards). You can purchase it on Amazon in paperback and ebook, or download it to your Kindle Unlimited account.
Cathy is lonely, studious,
and athletic. Dodie is easygoing, attractive, and popular. Their
unlikely friendship begins during junior high and grows into an
inseparable bond. During high school, Dodie's cousin, Timmy, moves
to their small town. Soon Cathy and Timmy discover they have a lot
in common. They each have big dreams. His is to play professional
baseball. Hers is to become a doctor.
The tumultuous '60s take away Cathy's dreams, Timmy, and her faith
and leave her and Dodie sharing a dark secret. It will take thirty
years, a tragic accident to Dodie, a loving husband, and the right
person driving Timmy's car before Cathy can forgive herself and
accept the unconditional love of Christ.
