Episode 43 - Microsoft and Assistive Technology
The episode this week is a special episode as it kicks off Dyslexia in Adults collaboration with Microsoft to help celebrate and raise awareness of their 'Be You!' Campaign which is set up to showcase all the amazing features that come built-in to Microsoft products to help people with Dyslexia!
And who better to talk to about the 'Be You!' campaign than the creator her self Kelly Monday!
In this interview I speak with Kelly all about the campaign and what you can expect from Microsoft in the way of their built-in assistive technology in all Microsoft products.
Not only do we discuss the great benefits of the features but we also have a real conversation about the reality of using assistive technology and, as a dyslexic person herself, Kelly shares with me what has helped her to be as successful as she is using her many great skills which comes with dyslexia and how she navigates the challenges it comes with.
The Be You campaign highlights how a range of Microsoft digital tools can make everyday life more accessible for people with Dyslexia, whether attending a university lecture, writing a best man speech or simply reading a large amount of text online. This campaign aims to reach people traditionally missing out on access to assistive technology, those that are potentially not accessing advice through education or workplace initiatives.
