Israel ha retrasado la liberación de rehenes que acordó liberar como parte de las negociaciones de alto el fuego. Después de que las familias esperaran hasta 12 horas en un clima frío y húmedo a sus familiares, Israel anunció que no liberaría a los rehenes porque Hamás había violado los acuerdos de alto el fuego al celebrar ceremonias de liberación de rehenes degradantes e indignas. El sábado, un rehén israelí que fue tomado por Hamás el 7 de octubre de 2023 sonrió, saludó al público presente y besó a dos soldados de Hamás en la frente cuando fue liberado de su cautiverio. El primer ministro israelí, Benjamin Netanyahu, ha afirmado que estas ceremonias violan el acuerdo de alto el fuego. Izzat Al-Rishq, miembro de la oficina política de Hamás, dijo: “La afirmación de la ocupación de que la (…) ceremonia es humillante es una afirmación falsa y un débil pretexto destinado a evadir las obligaciones del acuerdo. (…) Los prisioneros palestinos son liberados con las manos atadas y los ojos vendados, y sus familias son amenazadas para que no haga ninguna celebración”.
Israel has delayed the release of hostages that it agreed to freeing as part of ceasefire negotiations. After families waited up to 12 hours in cold and wet weather for their family members, Israel announced it would not be releasing the hostages because Hamas had violated ceasefire agreements by holding demeaning and undignified hostage release ceremonies. On Saturday, an Israeli hostage that was taken by Hamas on October 7th, 2023 smiled, waived at the cheering crowd and kissed two Hamas soldiers on the forehead as he was released from captivity. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has claimed that these ceremonies violate the ceasefire agreement. Izzat Al-Rishq, a member of Hamas’ political bureau said, The occupation's claim that the (…) ceremony is humiliating is a false claim and a flimsy pretext aimed at evading the agreement's obligations. (…) The Palestinian prisoners are released with their hands tied and blindfolded, and their families are threatened not to hold any celebrations.”l
