Piker livestreams his political commentary on the website Twitch and is the most popular leftist online personality in the US. Due to his advocacy of Palestinian rights and criticism of Israel, he has been falsely accused of supporting terrorism, and pro-Israeli influencers have called for Twitch to remove him from the platform. Upon returning from a visit to Paris, Piker was detained by federal agents at the airport in Chicago. According to Piker, the agents questioned him about his political opinions regarding Hamas, the Ansarallah movement, and Hezbollah. The three pro-Palestinian groups are considered terrorist organizations by the US government, and Piker has been accused by the online harrassment campaigns of supporting them. When Columbia University student Mahmoud Khalil was deported solely for his beliefs in March, it had been the right wing Betar organization, not the government, that had initially identified him and called for his deportation.
