A former Israeli hostage who was rescued from Hamas custody has criticized the media for lying about her experience and presenting it as Israeli propaganda. Noa Argamani, a 26-year old Israeli navy veteran, was taken hostage by Hamas fighters on October 7th, and was rescued as part of the raid on the Nuseirat refugee camp in June, during which Israeli and US forces killed 236 Palestinian civilians. Last week, Argamani posted a message on her social media saying that she was not beaten by Hamas fighters as the media had reported, and that her injuries were a result of an Israeli bomb. She said, “As a victim of October 7th I will not allow myself to be victimized once again by the media.” In December, a group of freed Israeli hostages told the media, “ We were in tunnels, terrified that it would not be Hamas, but Israel, that would kill us, and then they would say Hamas killed you.” Another freed hostage said, ““We felt as though no one was doing anything for us. The reality is that I was in a hideout that was bombed and we became wounded refugees. This doesn’t even include the helicopter that fired at us on our way to Gaza.”
