Today on The Holistic Dentistry Show, Darwin Redil joins Dr. Sanda for an in-depth look at what’s happening between our teeth and how to care for those sensitive spaces. Everyone knows we should floss; whether they do it or not is another question. In this episode, let Darwin persuade you to keep your teeth plaque free as he shares tip after tip to keep clean in between and what is at risk if you don’t.
Darwin begins by sharing that brushing our teeth isn’t enough to clean them and in fact, only covers 60% of the tooth surface! He then details some of the several ways to clean in between, providing both cheap and expensive options. Dr. Sanda and Darwin agree that one of their favorite tools for those tricky spaces is a water flosser.
Darwin then debunks some common mouth-cleaning myths, warns against toothpicks, and spells out the dangers of not tending to this area of our mouth. The resulting gum disease is highly preventable and we all have the tools to protect ourselves and our bodies.
