 In today's episode of your 5 part series, "How to Stop Feeling Out of Control with Food," Kim shares the secret gems to get control.  We think it’s all about the food and willpower, but it’s not.  Listen in to hear how stress and sleep can help balance or wreak havoc with your relationship with food. Kim shares personal anecdotes and professional insights, highlighting how hormonal changes, particularly during menopause, can significantly impact our weight and stress levels, often leading us to seek comfort in food.


Kim explains some of the connections with  stress, sleep, and eating habits. She also discusses the counterproductive nature of diet culture's push towards over exercising and restrictive eating, especially during periods of hormonal fluctuation. 

Kim  offers practical advice on managing stress through mindful morning routines, taking regular breaks throughout the day, and techniques like tapping and meditation.  All of these suggestions are to help you calm moments throughout the day, which in turn will help you have more control with food.


Kim addresses the challenges of sleep during hormonal changes and provides strategies to improve sleep hygiene, such as establishing a relaxing nighttime routine, reducing screen time, and creating an optimal sleep environment. These steps are not only crucial for better sleep but also for mitigating stress-induced eating behaviors.
