In Vol 1., Episode 3, we meet with Brian McNaught, author, coach, and educator.
Brian McNaught, dubbed "the godfather of gay diversity training" by The New York Times, is a prominent corporate diversity consultant specializing in LGBTQ+ issues in the workplace. With over four decades of experience since 1974, McNaught has leveraged his personal journey and expertise as a sexuality educator to address audiences globally.
Authoring thirteen books on LGBTQ+ issues, some used as college texts, and featuring in seven DVDs, McNaught's impact extends to professional and university audiences across North America, Europe, Australia, and Asia. Notable clients include Merrill Lynch, Deutsche Bank, Ford, SONY, and over 200 Colleges/Universities.
His LGBTQ educational resource DVDs cover topics like workplace issues, growing up gay, and fostering an inclusive environment. McNaught's written works, such as "On Being Gay" and "Brian McNaught’s Guide on LGBTQ Issues in the Workplace," are widely utilized on college campuses.
Beyond his contributions as a consultant and author, McNaught served as the Mayor of Boston's Liaison to the Gay and Lesbian Community during the early 1980s. He conducted a citywide study, coordinated the city's response to the AIDS epidemic, and advised the former Surgeon General on a national sexual health initiative.
Brian McNaught holds a B.A in Journalism from Marquette University and is certified by the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT). He resides in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, with his husband Ray Struble.
