Episode 39:
Overcoming Fear of Public Speaking & Presenting
Episode Overview
Today I'm giving you an
exclusive glimpse into Week 8 of my REP
MBA Program — the comprehensive training system that
transforms sales reps into the top 1% performers in their
companies.
Today's
Mission: Turn your fear of public speaking into your most
powerful competitive advantage.
The Hard
Truth: You weren't born bad at presenting. You were just
never trained to lead the room. And that fear is costing you
leadership opportunities, influence, credibility, and a lot of
money.
What You'll
Get: The exact frameworks to transform fear into power and
presentations into revenue-generating events in just 15
minutes.

Method for rapid improvement
✅ Q&A
Confidence & Fast-Track Growth
- 4-step system for
handling any question with confidence
- 30-day improvement plan
from safe practice to public speaking
- How to study the best
presenters and make it your own
Key Frameworks Covered
🔸 The Serving vs.
Performing Mindset
- Performing
mindset: "I need to impress these people"
- Serving
mindset: "I have information that will help these
people"
- When you shift focus from
yourself to them, anxiety drops and clarity increases
🔸 The 3 Power
Opening Hooks
- Ask a Powerful
Question: "Have you ever invested in equipment that ended
up collecting dust? Show of hands..."
- Make a Bold
Claim: "In the next 20 minutes, I'm going to show you how
to add $15K per month..."
- Tell a Compelling
Story: "Two years ago, I walked into a clinic 60 days from
closing..."
🔸 The 3-Part Talk
Framework
- Part 1: PROBLEM
(30%) - Name the pain they're feeling
- Part 2:
POSSIBILITY (20%) - Paint what's possible
- Part 3: PATHWAY
(50%) - Show them how to get there
🔸 The Physical
Presence Formula
- Posture:
Shoulder-width stance, weight distributed, shoulders back
-
Movement: Move with purpose, plant when making key
points
- Hands:
Deliberate gestures, no fidgeting
- Eyes:
3-second scan rule (eye contact without staring)
🔸 The 4-Step
Q&A System
- Repeat the question aloud
(buys thinking time)
- Validate before answering
("Great question...")
- Answer briefly, then
redirect
- If you don't know, own it
honestly
Top Takeaways
🎯 "You weren't
born bad at presenting. You were just never trained to lead the
room."
🎯 "Fear loses
power when your mission becomes louder than your
insecurity."
🎯 "Your goal isn't
perfection. It's connection."
🎯 "You don't need
to be Tony Robbins. You just need to be present, passionate, and
prepared."

until you feel ready. You become ready by showing up."
The 30-Day Fast-Track Improvement Plan
Week 1: Safe
Practice
- Record yourself
presenting for 5 minutes
- Present to a colleague or
friend
- Get feedback, adjust,
repeat
Week 2: Low-Stakes
Real Practice
- Volunteer to lead your
team meeting
- Treat 1:1 demos like
mini-presentations
- Present to one or two
friendly clients
Week 3: Public
Practice
- Lead a lunch-and-learn at
a smaller practice
- Present at a networking
event
- Go live on social media
teaching something
Week 4: Level
Up
- Present to a larger
group
- Speak at an industry
event
- Host your own
webinar
Each presentation
makes you 10x better. There's no substitute for reps.
The Camera Practice Method
Step 1:
Record yourself giving a 5-minute presentation on your phone
Step 2:
Watch it twice
- First
viewing: Listen to content. Is it clear? Valuable?
Well-structured?
- Second
viewing: Mute the audio. Watch body language. What energy
are you projecting?
Step 3:
Note improvements
- How many times do you say
"um"?
- Do you look confident or
terrified?
- Are you stiff or
natural?
Step 4:
Do this 3x before any major presentation
You can't fix what you
can't see.
Voice Mastery Techniques
Vary Your
Pitch
- Voice goes up when asking
questions
- Voice goes down when
making strong statements
- Think of your voice as
music, not a flat line
Control Your
Pace
- Slow down on important
points
- Speed up slightly on
transitions or stories
- Don't rush because you're
nervous
Use Strategic
Pauses
- After key points, pause
for 2-3 seconds
- That silence feels
awkward to you but powerful to the audience
- It says: "That was
important. Let it sink in."
Volume
Variation
- Bring volume up for
emphasis
- Drop it down to draw
people in during intimate moments
- Never yell, never
whisper

Study the Best
Watch TED Talks
for education, not entertainment. Notice:
- How they open (always
with a hook)
- How they move
(purposeful, not frantic)
- How they pause (letting
big ideas breathe)
- How they connect (stories
over data)
Model what works.
Make it your own.
The Real Cost of Avoiding the Stage
Every time you avoid
presenting, you're leaving on the table:
- ✅ Money (group
presentations = efficient selling)

authority)

mastery)
Every time you step up and
speak:

Final Thought
Public speaking isn't a
personality trait. It's a skill. And like any skill, it can be
learned, practiced, and mastered.
The reps who avoid the
stage stay average.
The reps who step up become legends.
The audience is
waiting. So is your next level.
