- Removing heavy valances from windows can significantly increase natural light and modernize the look of a room. 
- Using an inspiration piece, such as a landscape painting, to create a cohesive color palette can elevate the sophistication of a space. 
- Placing a rug under a bed should be done in a way that allows for maximum comfort and visual balance, typically starting 6 to 12 inches in front of the nightstands and extending around the bed.
