- Opt for low-pile rugs under desks and dining tables to avoid the need for plastic chair mats and to accommodate chair movement without leaving indentations.
- Consider using two 8x10 rugs instead of one large custom-sized rug in a home office for easier replacement and practical maintenance.
- Mixing wood tones between furniture and flooring is acceptable, but using an area rug with a pattern under a dining table can help separate the wood tones and camouflage stains.
