Welcome to our special Halloween episode! Join wellness-preneurs Eco-Vegan GalWhitney LauritsenEaternity’s, Jason Wrobel, and I Vegan You's, Nicole Derseweh, as they share their experiences of the supernatural!

We spent last Halloween together and Nicole rocked the make-up brushes to make us all look totally dope.

We’re fascinated by the paranormal and the unexplainable. This is the perfect time of year to ask what you believe in. Do we really know who we are, where we came from? Do you believe in spirits, in aliens? We do! Quantum physics show that our brains can only detect a very small fraction of the reality that is available. This reality isn’t the only reality, and these bodies aren’t the only manifestation of our souls.

Each of our Wellness Warriors has had real experiences with spirits and beings from other dimensions. Jason once woke up to find himself pinned to the couch by invisible forces. Nicole captured a dark energy on camera. Whitney accessed the spirit world in her sleep. Allison connected with loved ones on the other side. There’s definitely something bigger than us, and there’s no better time to share these stories than Halloween!

Turn your passion into your career! Join wellness-preneurs Eco-Vegan Gal, Whitney Lauritsen, My Healthy Hustle's Jason Wrobel, and I Vegan You's Nicole Derseweh as they drop knowledge bombs and their secrets on how to do what you love every day.

Being a successful entrepreneur comes down to 7 key areas:

  1. Your Special Sauce

There has never been and will never be another you. You need to double down on your special sauce—own whatever makes you unique. Don’t hide your quirks. They are what make you relatable, and what make other people want to do business with you. No one is perfect! And when you are yourself, when you show up as you are, flaws and all, you empower others to do the same.

When Alison started her wellness blog she thought she had to be the perfect picture of health and happiness 24/7. This meant her posts weren’t authentic and the blog didn’t get much of a following. It wasn’t until she found her true voice and began to share her story on the podcast that Food Heals really took off.

  1. Your Story

Our stories heal. When we share our stories, whatever our struggles or failures, someone listening will resonate with them. The more honest we are, the more our story can heal others and us. That’s how we can be spiritual activists and help the world.

  1. Multiple Streams of Income

If you just focus on one channel, you might be successful but only until the trend lasts, or the algorithm changes. Having more than one income stream means that you create a sustainable and stable revenue.

Say you want to get into content creation. Did you know that there are over 30 ways to make money as a content creator? That’s one of Whitney’s courses. Her income streams come from coaching, consulting, courses, Eco Vegan Gal, and more.

  1. A Little Faith

Today, Jason is a vegan chef, lifestyle coach and nutrition edu-tainer on a mission to reduce suffering and increase joy on this planet. But before this, he worked in advertising. The process of letting go of the old life wasn’t easy. But there comes a point in our lives when we have to accept the gap between where we are and where we want to be, and take that leap of faith.

  1. Patience

Accept that it won’t be an overnight transformation. To start making a difference in people’s lives and make an income, you need to build trust and that takes time. You need to be patient and committed to developing your brand a little each day and be ready for the long haul.

  1. Trust in the Universe

We need to free ourselves from the constraints placed by our own minds, other people and society in order to be successful. It’s about attitude. How much do you believe in yourself and your mission? And how much do you trust that the Universe has your back?

No matter what level we’re at, we don’t know if the course will be successful, if the post will be shared, if that client will call back or if the video will go viral. We have to go beyond knowing into trusting in the Universe, intuition, and life.

  1. Abundance Mindset

Do you have an abundance mindset? Abundance is consciously receiving that which has already being given to you—being grateful. When we are in that high, vibrational energy of gratitude, we attract the right people and opportunities into our lives.

Nicole didn’t even think she could make money from her passion, but it gave her so much joy that it transformed her energy and ended up sparking her acting career. Her genuine inner fulfilment meant that she attracted more of it into her life.

Top tips to up-level your business

Allison:

Don’t be too proud to work for free—it can massively pay off. Sometimes you have to put in the effort to get your foot in the door. It might take doing a few free speaking gigs to reach your tribe and grow your audience.

Insta tip: Use your Instagram feed for your best posts, like a portfolio, and stories like an interview to share who you authentically are.

Jason:

Look at your business as you would an investment. The more sources of income you have, the more sustainable you become. Have as many consistent income streams as possible.

Secret sauce: carve out your uniqueness and trust that the more you reveal of yourself the more people will embrace you.

Nicole:

Treat every role as if it is the award-winning one. It doesn’t matter how many people show up for your course or your webinar, always give your best. Even if it’s the smallest project, treat every opportunity like it is huge.

Whitney:

Figure out money issues which could get in the way of trying to generate income doing what you love. Check out “Money: A Love Story” by Kate Northrup, or Jen Sincero’s “You’re a Bad Ass at Making Money”—great books to help you figure out the emotional and energetic blocks to your financial abundance.

Welcome to Episode 3 of our 4-part Wellness Warrior series! This week, our plant-powered team includes How to Live to 100 host Jason Wrobel, vegan chef and unicorn brunch specialist Nicole Derseweh, and YouTube personality Eco-Vegan Gal Whitney Lauritsen who share their health hacks for longevity

Have you heard of the blue zones? These are 5 cities across the world where people live the longest. What are their secrets? Pretty simple things, actually: movement, nourishing food, community, and spirituality. But it gets better! A longevity lifestyle includes wine (enjoyed responsibly), chocolate (the right kind) and sex (the good kind). Yay!

Why are these things so good for you? Because they reduce the chronic stress our modern lifestyles are packed with. Diet, relationships (with ourselves and others), and stress are today’s silent killers: they affect our health on a molecular level. But you have the power to protect your health, and live longer and happier.

Epigenetics research shows that while our genetics load the gun, our lifestyle pulls the trigger. What this means is that while someone might have a family history of cancer or obesity, these genes only pre-dispose them to disease. How we choose to live our life will determine whether or not those genes wake up. Our daily lifestyle choices, our emotions, and our attitude all affect our genetic expressions.

Of course, it’s not just about just getting to 100 or living as long as possible: it’s about being fit, healthy and happy as long as possible. Quality of life, not just quantity. For that, we need to go beyond just diet and exercise, and look at our attitude. How do you begin your day (check out our Morning Routine Episode)? How to you view yourself and your health? Do you put love into everything you do?

If you want to live a long, vibrant life, you can make that choice: the choice to show up with an attitude of gratitude and a positive vibration.

In the next episode of our Wellness Warrior series, we’ll talk about how to do what you love every day AND how to turn that into a career! Stay tuned!

Welcome to the second episode of our Wellness Warrior series! We’re round-tabling with vegan chef and actress (and rapper!) Nicole Derseweh, world-renowned leader in raw vegan cuisine and host of the J-Wro Wro show Jason Wrobel, and healthy living crusader & founder of Eco-Vegan Gal Whitney Lauritsen, to bring you our favorite alternative medicine secrets.

These days, there’s a pill for every ill. And often another pill to fight the side effects of the first one! While some pharmaceuticals can offer a temporary solution, who wants to take medication for the rest of their lives? Well, you don’t have to. You can support your health and heal yourself naturally.

Secret 1: Detox
We’re in a toxicity epidemic. Toxic food, toxic environment, toxic thoughts. Many of us have heavy metals in our bodies, like lead, cadmium and mercury, not to mention xeno-estrogens (plastic-based synthetic estrogen that disrupts hormones). An infrared sauna helps the body detoxify heavy metals through the skin. You can go to spa or get your own. You can gently detox every day by drinking plenty of water and choosing water-dense, fiber-rich, plant-based foods.

Secret 2: Natural Happiness
All too often depression is treated with SSRIs (selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors). They may be okay as a bridge to help you over that first hurdle, but long-term they are not always the answer. Jason is living proof that you do not need to go down the pharmaceutical route. Diagnosed with clinical depression 3 years ago, he decided to boost his own serotonin and happy brain chemicals naturally. How? A combination of meditation, exercise, supplementation and self-love.

Secret 3: Heart Health
Heart disease is the number one killer in the US. The traditional western medicine response is surgery and medication. But did you know you can reverse heart disease? Studies show that a plant-based diet, meditation and fitness can reverse atherosclerosis. And Japanese research has found that the bacteria used to turn soy into nato (ultra fermented soy) actually eats the arterial plaque in the heart, cleaning it! But heart disease is more than just about saturated fat and processed foods. We reject affection, we block love, we shy away from connection, we’re afraid, we don’t love ourselves—heart disease is also a disease of empty heart. Our mindset and how much love we feel for ourselves and others also plays a huge role in our healing.

Secret 4: Healthy Mindset
Chronic pain indicates more than just a physical issue. Often, it’s a sign of blocked or unresolved emotions. How do you view yourself, your life, your relationships? What are you saying when you feel unwell? Our beliefs create our reality. If you’re constantly sick, what is going on in your life, in your mind, what is your attitude? Your mental energy and what you believe has the power to completely shift your healing.

Top Wellness Warrior Alternative Medicine Tips:

Nicole:
Forget sugary snacks that end up making you tired—make your snacking raw and bioavailable instead, like dates, nuts, smoothies. For a caffeine-free healthy pick-me-up, go for Matcha green tea.

Jason:
Blood of the Dragon: A special tree sap from the Amazon, which creates a scab over deep wounds (you know, the kind you get when you’re creating vegan art with a mandolin)! It completely healed Nicole’s and Jason’s chef injuries.

Allison:
Get a vibration machine (no! not THAT kind!)—a vibrating platform shakes up your whole body and really sets you up for meditation. And cryotherapy (shout out to CryoZone in Santa Monica!)—the freezing temperatures boost your body’s healing potential and give you a natural high.

Whitney:
When Whitney got the flu recently, she turned to herbs, inflammation-fighters like ginger, garlic and turmeric, positive affirmations, and essential oils—you can use them internally as well as in a diffuser.

Oct 3, 2017

Welcome to the first part of our brand new 4-part Wellness Warrior Series! And it starts just like any great day should: with a magical morning routine. Because how you begin each day dramatically affects every area of your life. We’ve all felt the difference between a day we begin with a tall glass of lemon water and a yoga practice, versus a day when we hit the snooze button fifteen times before grudgingly dragging ourselves out of bed, right?

Our circadian rhythms can get totally out of balance, especially if we live in the city. There’s artificial light, wifi, EMF, irregular work hours, etc. and these all affect how we sleep, how we wake up, and how good (or bad) we feel. That’s why creating a magical morning routine can help you wrestle some of the control back, and work wonders for your wellness. Of course, there’s no one-size-fits-all model. We can’t all be early birds, thriving on 5am starts. You have to find your own sweet spot, just like today’s guests. Listen now [bitly]!

For Eco-Vegan Gal and healthy living crusader Whitney Lauritsen, water, meditation and movement are the top three priorities. She starts her day on her rebounder or takes a moment to spend time outside. She also suggests Journaling as also a great way to begin your day, by setting your intention and aligning with a positive vibration.

The number one rule of magical morning routines, according to vegan chef, culinary comedian and Eaternity Author Jason Wrobel, is: Don’t switch on your emails or social media before you’ve taken care of yourself. Jason’s routine includes lots of water with either lemon juice or apple cider vinegar to alkalize, meditation, exercise and a plant-based breakfast. A good morning begins the night before, so create a sleep sanctuary: turn off your wifi and electrical devices, invest in black-out curtains, leave your phone on airplane mode.

Nicole Derseweh, vegan chef and founder of the Unicorn brunch pop up series in LA, begins her magical morning routine with a conscious loving breathing practice sending loving, healing energy to each part of her body and being grateful for how it has served her. She believes you should put your priorities at the top of your day. For her, it’s community and friendship, so her morning routine includes a hike with girlfriends.

Allison starts her day with a gratitude journal, and this is a simple practice that will change your entire day. As an energy boost, Allison practices various yoga poses utilizing breath of fire. The Kundalini Breath of Fire is an intense breathing practice that will get you fired up in the morning—great if you struggle to get up! And don’t forget your green smoothie!

You are the star and director of the movie of your life. You get to choose. Stay in bed and snooze, or get up and shine? Start your day believing in and attracted abundance, or start your day in fear and anxiety? When you start your day centered, you can create the day you want. By simply changing how you wake up, you can transform any area of your life faster than you ever thought possible.
