This week on the podcast, I am joined by Joanna Sapir. Joanna is a sales expert who works with entrepreneurs to help them with their businesses. This episode originally aired on M.B.Om: Behind the Scenes, and in it, Joanna is teaching us how to get out of the mindset of freelancer or contractor and start considering ourselves business owners and entrepreneurs. As yoga teachers who work for themselves, this can be a super challenging shift to make and Joanna has some awesome tips for how to do that.

Enjoy!

In this episode:

- Come back to your why as a yoga teacher

- Is offering people a class going to create the transformation that you want it to?

- You want to set your prices so that you can be profitable

- How many client facing hours do you want to have in your life?

- What is my ideal schedule?

- You take that number against how much money you want to make per month and that gives you a "base hourly rate"

- This can shift you from trading time for dollars, which makes it really hard to make a sustainable living

- Clients feel good when they invest in themselves and in a program vs. just purchasing a one-off class

- Talking about your pricing and your packages will become more comfortable the more that you do it

- When you feel uncomfortable, it means that you are growing!

As yoga teachers and business owners, we are often juggling a million things at once so productivity and efficiency are super important! That’s why I am very excited to be partnering with MagicMind.

MagicMind is a productivity drink that is made of all-natural ingredients and has adaptogens to help decrease stress, nootropics that boost blood flow, and Matcha to help keep you focused.

I am super sensitive to caffeine, which means that I can’t pound coffee all day to stay energized and productive and that’s one of the reasons that I love MagicMind. There is minimal caffeine so you can get energized without getting the caffeine jitters and then the caffeine crash.

Whether you are someone that needs a boost of productivity in the mornings or the afternoons, MagicMind is the perfect drink! I love to use MagicMind for a quick pick-me-up during the afternoon lag and I love to make it as a Matcha Latte! It’s healthy, it tastes great, and it helps me get into my flow state.

If you’d like to experience the benefits of increased productivity and mental energy, you can get MagicMind at www.magicmind.co/yoga and use code yoga20 for 20% off.

  • We have to be good listeners to cultivate community online
  • Listen, ask questions, and start a dialogue from audience responses
  • A great way to get people to engage is to ask them questions about themselves (like where they went on vacation last or what’s their favorite color)
  • When you ask a question, wait 6 seconds for a response! Someone will usually respond and kick off the discussion!
  • Just because someone isn't engaging back with you in the online space doesn't mean they aren't watching and listening
  • You don't need a massive following to have a successful, engaged community or a successful business
