dinoflagellate called Gambierdiscus:
The dinoflagellates (Greek δῖνος dinos "whirling" and Latin flagellum "whip, scourge") are a monophyletic group of single-celled eukaryotes constituting the phylum Dinoflagellata[5] and are usually considered protists. Dinoflagellates are mostly marine plankton, but they also are common in freshwater habitats. Their populations vary with sea surface temperature, salinity, and depth. Many dinoflagellates are photosynthetic, but a large fraction of these are in fact mixotrophic, combining photosynthesis with ingestion of prey (phagotrophy and myzocytosis).[6][7] source: wikipedia

totoba Fish Laundering:
Below is a wikipedia entry about totoaba and why it is an endangered species. The damming and overuse of the Colorado River has changed the salinity of the totoaba spawning grounds. That is severely affecting the totoaba population. They are a slow growing fish that does not spawn until it is 6-7 years old. Also, the Chinese use totoaba bladders in “traditional medicine” which can sell for 20,000 each. Their own related species the bahaba is in very short supply so they have switched to totaba.

Other findings: - 22% of male Florida Tinder users pose with a fish - 46% of college sorority women agree that men, who hold fish are attractive - 25% of women found men holding a Great Northern Tilefish to be the most attractive, followed by the Sailfish CH-this was really cute and i wish they would do more from different areas. This one is clearly very Florida surf and inshore species heavy. What about New Hampshire or Kansas???

Hydrilla Invades Maine by Todd Corayer
https://fishwrapwriter.com/2023/10/04/hydrilla-invades-indian-lake/
Todd points out that hydrilla is a very tough highly adaptable invasive, it survives just find in a dirty fish tank with poor lighting. It only gets into waters by aquarium dumpers. It gets spread by boats if they do not follow good sanitation and Todd covers all that and more in his excellent article.

Miso Glazed Striped Bass
Two 6-8 Oz portions of striped bass, skin on, scaled and boned
¼ C. White miso paste
¼ C. Maple Syrup(the real stuff)
1 T. high quality Dijon or whole grain mustard
2 Bunches broccolini, sweet baby broccoli or asparagus
1 Lb Fingerling potatoes or baby Yukon gold.(or taters from Aldi cut down to size.)
Pre Heat oven to 400 F
Wash the potatoes, cut any that are too large for a bite size down into appropriate size
toss potatoes in a bowl, drizzle a T. olive oil and a big pinch of salt and pepper, toss to coat and roast in a 400 F oven on a sheet pan.
While the potatoes roast, combine miso, maple syrup and mustard in a small bowl.
Trim broccolini or asparagus ends and season with olive oil, salt and, pepper like the potatoes.
Once potatoes are tender, approximately 20-25 minutes, place asparagus or broccolini on a sheet pan and roast for 5-8 minutes. Or until veg is tender and barely coked through.
Put a cast iron, or heavy bottomed skillet on medium heat and let pre heat for 2 minutes. While pan heats, pat fish dry and season all over with salt and pepper. Once pan is hot, add a T. of high heat(canola, grapeseed, avocado) oil and coat bottom of pan. Add fish to oiled pan, skin side down, and cook on medium high heat until skin is crispy, approx 3-5 minutes. Flip fish gently and finish in the oven for 2-4 minutes, or until fish is cooked mostly through.
remove pan from oven and begin to brush the miso mixture on the fish, coat well and place back in oven for 1 minute to set the glaze, repeat at least 1x more time. remove fish from pan and enjoy.
