In July of 1990, 15-year-old Stephanie DuBay was murdered at a home in Warren, Michigan. The murder was one of the most gruesome and disturbing ever seen in the Detroit area.

Just before Christmas, 1989 the Harris Family, parents Tony, Dodie, and children Shelby and Marc were brutally murdered in their NY home. The killings started a dark period in the Dryden area, leading to the community being called "the village of the damned".
