Footy Prime The Podcast

Jun 24, 2022

With the Canadian women's national team in Toronto this week to play Korea Sunday at BMO Field in a tune up before the 2022 CONCACAF W Championship, former CanWNT midfielder and Canadian Soccer Hall of Famer Amy Walsh joined James Sharman, Craig Forrest, Jimmy Brennan and Brendan Dunlop. In addition to talking about the strength of Bev Priestman's side, Amy talks about how the time is now to build a sustainable infrastructure for the women's game in Canada to give Canadian women opportunities to play and work in soccer at home, and stop the talent and brain drain that has seen Canada's best leave the country.

As the CF Montreal sideline reporter, Amy gives her take on rising star Ismaël Koné, and has a few laughs with Jimmy and Craig about the evolution of Canadian national team kits and how they were used throughout the program. Producer Dan Wong revealed a horrifying childhood experience on Wednesday's show that still had the crew laughing. Craiger updates the world on his "stolen car". JC reads details of a bizarre dream that Dunny's brother had, as Sharms and Dunny yell at each other about Ronaldo. And Jimmy laughs. It's the perfect start to your weekend.

Presenters: James Sharman, Craig Forrest, Jimmy Brennan, Brendan Dunlop and Dan Wong
