Hey all! In this episode of the podcast, we will review Season 3, Episode 5 of "The Mandalorian" titled "The Pirate". The episode sees the Mandalorians return to Nevarro to save its citizens from a pirate invasion and are rewarded with their own territory to live on openly. However, the episode is disjointed and bounces awkwardly between multiple plotlines. We'll discuss the various plot elements, including the stifling New Republic bureaucracy on Coruscant, the efforts of the High Magistrate Greef Karga to civilize Nevarro, and the splintering of Mandalorian tribes. We'll also talk about the Armorer's embrace of multiculturalism and how it leads to a nice scene between her and Bo-Katan. Finally, we'll weigh in on the pacing of the episode's back half and discuss how it sets up for the season finale.
