welcomes the book's author and Homeless Teen Advocate Sheryl
Recinos, MD to discuss her harrowing story as a homeless youth
growing up in Hollywood and her path to becoming a Physician.
Sheryl shares more about fleeing North Carolina on a bus at age 13
and the ensuing chaos when she arrived in Los Angeles. As a
pregnant teenager experiencing homelessness, Sheryl found comfort
in mentor moms who helped her navigate the process of becoming a
parent despite the uncertainty of her housing situation. Amy
and Sheryl chat more about how to support those who are combating
these situations, and how to advocate for the next steps in solving
the homeless problem.
