Andrew Gordon is a yoga teacher, former studio and the host of the Yoga Moves You Podcast, joining me from Charlotte, North Carolina. Andrew came to yoga after a family tragedy, and found that it changed his life for the better to the point that he wanted to share yoga with the world as a teacher.
After getting his teacher training and beginning to teach, Andrew dove into studio ownership. On this episode, he shares the struggles and challenges of being a yoga studio owner, and why he ultimately sold the studios he owned, as well as some of the most important lessons he learned through the journey.
Since selling his yoga studio, Andrew has dove into running the Yoga Moves You Podcast. Andrew shares why he decided to make this change, what life as a podcast host is like, as well as what he's learned through running his podcast.

This week on the podcast I am joined by Colynn Vosburgh from Frik-Shuhn Yoga. Colynn came to yoga from a nursing background, and after discovering her love of teaching, she quit nursing and med school to dive into teaching full-time. From there, she transitioned into teaching yoga teachers and working as a business coach.
On this episode, we dive into the power of investing in yourself and how it will pay back once you do it. Investing in yourself can come in a lot of different forms, but we really dive into the power of a great business coach, because part of what helped Colynn dive into her full-time yoga teacher career was hiring a business coach.
We discuss the importance of defining what you want with your life and your career, getting clear on the fears that are holding you back, and how to break through them in order to figure out how to be successful in the yoga industry. We also talk about how to break through limiting beliefs around making money, learning to trust your intuition, and turning your "failures" into steps towards success.

On this episode of the podcast, I'm joined by Kristen Sweeney from Edge of the Mat. Kristen came to yoga from an acting and performing background, and since then has grown her business to teaching yoga and supporting yoga teachers to help them grow their businesses.
On this episode, Kristen and I dive into the yoga of money. The biggest complaint we hear from yoga teachers is that they are overworked and underpaid and we both firmly believe that it's possible to make money in the yoga industry! We chat about how we can reframe our thoughts around money, and Kristen shares tips for shifting your perspective around money, including shifting thoughts around non-attachment, and the scarcity mindset.
She also talks about tips for getting jobs as a yoga teacher, and how to ask for a raise. Finally, we discuss the pros and cons of being online in a profession where we encourage being present, and how we can find the balance between being present for our students and building a following and additional revenue stream online. Enjoy!
