This week on the podcast I am joined by Susi Hately. Susi has a B.Sc. in Kinesiology with a focus on Exercise Physiology, is a yoga teacher, a yoga therapist, and a lover of anatomy and functional movement. After working in occupational therapy and at a pain center, Susi combined her passion for helping people feel good in their bodies with yoga. Now, Susi runs a business called Functional Synergy where she trains yoga teachers to feel more comfortable and confident with anatomy and working with different and unique bodies.

On this episode, Susi and I talk about her journey from a kinesiologist to a yoga teacher and how she was able to blend her passion for her yoga with her passion for pain management. We also talk about how Susi has been able to create a successful business training yoga teachers on better, more functional anatomy, and some of the areas of asana that we may not be teaching correctly.

Enjoy!

This week on the podcast I am joined by Mado Hesselink. Mado is a yoga teacher, a mother, a yoga business coach, and the host and founder of the Yoga Teacher Resource podcast. I had the pleasure of being a guest on Mado's podcast a couple of months ago, and she is a delight to talk to. Her and I very much have similar beliefs when it comes to the yoga industry, and I'm excited to share this episode where we're talking about how to change the yoga industry from the inside out.

What does that mean? It means that as yoga teachers, we think about how we have to teach in yoga studios and there aren't other options for us, but on this episode, Mado shares how we can become more empowered as yoga teachers to be entrepreneurs. We can be selective about where we teach, how we spend our time and start making more money by offering our teachings outside of the studio space and in other areas of the community.

We also talk about business lessons for yoga teachers, what Mado has learned through her career, and more!

Enjoy!

This week on the podcast I am joined on the podcast by Tara Newbigging from Canmore, Alberta. She is the founder of BooTy and Studio B and you may remember Tara from all the way back in season 1. I had the pleasure of chatting with Tara as one of my very first episodes that I did for M.B.Om, and on that episode we talked all about how she stepped outside of the box to create her own fitness brand, BooTy. Since then, Tara has trained BooTy leaders around the world, as well as opened a home studio in Canmore called Studio B.

On this episode, Tara and I talk about what it was like to grow her brand and her business, train other teachers around the globe, and what it's been like to open a yoga & fitness studio in a small town. Tara talks about business lessons and what she's learned through the process of growing her business, and much more.

Enjoy!
